.CA Requirements.
The .CA domain extension is exclusively for Canadians and Canadian websites. This domain shows you or your business is Canadian.
CIRA is the Internet Registration Authority for all .CA domains in Canada. When you register a .CA at Webzone, an authorized registrar, you agree to the terms in the .CA Registration Agreement which includes the mandatory presence requirements.
One of the following conditions must be met to legally register a .CA domain.
- Canadian Citizen 18 years or older.
- A Permanent Resident 18 years or older.
- A Legal Representative of #1 or #2.
- A Canadian Corporation.
- A Canadian Trust.
- A Canadian Partnership.
- A Canadian Association.
- A Canadian Trade Union.
- A Canadian Political Party.
- A Canadian Educational Institution.
- A Canadian Library, Archive or Museum.
- A Canadian Hospital.
- Her Majesty the Queen.
- A Canadian Indian Band.
- Canadian Aboriginal Peoples.
- A Canadian Government.
- An owner of a Canadian Trademark.
- An owner of a Canadian Mark.
Anyone not meeting at least one of the above conditions cannot register a .CA domain. Learn more about domain names here.
